As a flight attendant who comes into contact with hundreds of people on a daily basis, the Coronavirus has even me looking for the emergency exits. We still don’t know much about it, but I’m here to tell you having a strong immune system is one of your best defenses against any flu or virus!
Here are 10 easy and doable ways to help your body boost your immune system:
- Get enough rest— prioritize your sleep
- Stay hydrated (cut down on caffeine and alcohol)
- Eat real food (nothing processed and organic as much as possible)
- Avoid sugar and fake sugar substitutes
- Add probiotic rich foods daily (organic and/or non dairy yogurt, sauerkraut, and kombucha or supplement all help with healthy gut bacteria)
- Up your vitamin C (through food, supplements or EnerC)
- Up your vitamin D. (getting outside in the sun is my favorite way)
- Ginger and turmeric (both have antimicrobial properties = natural immunity)

Some of these are common sense like getting rest and staying hydrated but we often need a reminder to do it. Get your hands wet! Make sure to wash your hands often and for at least 20 seconds. If you sing the Happy Birthday song while doing it you’ll make sure to get your 20 seconds in. Wearing gloves can help but a mask may not. Can wearing masks help to stop the spread of viruses?
