In March I attended The Natural Products Expo West. This huge exhibition contains all kinds of new food, health and lifestyle products promoted by various companies. My fellow health coach friends and I had a fantastic time checking it all out (and even getting a picture with a buffalo)! My goal in attending was to find a few new products that will either enhance or make traveling easier. I’m reviewing the following four products: BTC energy bars, SOS hydration drink mix, Napz all natural sleep aid and Four Sigmatic adatogen coffee and mushroom mocha.
First up BTC bars which stands for Better Than Coffee These bars contain 100 mg caffeine from guarana and maca which are both natural sources of energy. All four flavors contain 70% organic dark chocolate yet no bar has more than 4 grams of sugar. For my flight crew friends (especially pilots) wouldn’t you love a little boost when you’re flying a red-eye or international without having to drink that horrible airplane coffee?
My next great find is a product to help rehydrate you after flying. SOS Organic Hydration is a great tasting powder you mix into water. These little packets help to balance your water and sodium levels and enable you to feel fresh when arriving at your destination. They are also great to for reviving your mind and body after a night out or maybe too late of a debrief in your flying partner’s hotel room. 😉
My third product comes from an all women owned company called Napz. Napz is an herbal sleep aid made from passion flower, chamomile, lemon balm and hibiscus. You can either add the packet to water or take 2 capsules to help you sleep. One thing I really like about this product is that you can take it in the middle of the night to help you get back to sleep without feeling groggy, sluggish or hungover. How many times have you woken up in the middle of the night, looked at the clock and calculated that it was too late to take a sleeping pill and still make pick up? I really could have used these both during and after my vacation in Vietnam last month!
My last recommendation comes from a company I love called Four Sigmatic. They have all these great products made with medicinal mushrooms. Mushrooms are fantastic source of antioxidants and are anti-inflammatory, immune boosting as well as anti-viral. (We can all use more of these when flying) This year they introduced an adaptogen coffee as well as a mushroom mocha. Their little packets are perfect for travel since you only need hot water. You may be skeptical of mushrooms and coffee but believe me they are delicious!
Expo West was so much fun and I found many more products and met so many great people! Do you have any specific products or tools you use when traveling? Comment below and let me know!
